Job Details- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college.
- A valid New Mexico teaching license with endorsements as needed.
- Must be able to pass employment verification.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Designs and implements authentic and engaging learning experiences using the New Mexico Adopted Content Standards, WIDA/ELD standards, and the Carlsbad Municipal Schools adopted curriculum.
- Accurately demonstrates knowledge of the content area and uses the approved curriculum with fidelity.
- Gives clear expectations relating to lesson content and procedures.
- Communicates accurately in the content area.
- Shows interrelatedness across content areas.
- Uses teaching techniques addressing student learning levels, rates, and styles.
- Uses materials and media addressing student learning levels, rates, and styles.
- Provides small group and one-to-one instruction when needed.
- Uses teaching strategies that recognize student diversity and culture, creating a positive learning environment.
- Uses varied tools, resources, and modalities to personalize instruction based on student needs.
- Establishes a safe, supportive environment conducive to learning, promoting student agency and reflection.
- Understands and applies principles of student growth, development, and the teaching-learning cycle.
- Implements New Mexico’s Multi Layered System of Supports (MLSS) to support holistic student success.
- Participates in developing, using, and implementing IEPs, 504 plans, and Academic Improvement Plans, including necessary modifications.
- Adheres to assessment and grading policies.
- Assesses student growth and uses data to inform instruction and remediation.
- Maintains records of student progress and communicates with students and families promptly.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues, students, parents, and community to support learning.
- Communicates professionally with all stakeholders.
- Meets professional responsibilities, including punctuality and appearance.
- Supervises students and prepares for substitute teaching as needed.
- Serves on committees and keeps credentials current.
- Leads and supports teacher assistants, student teachers, and volunteers.
- Engages in professional development and research to enhance teaching practices.
