Electrical Safety Officer! ⚡We are looking for a detail‑oriented and knowledgeable Electrical Safety Officer to join our team in Carlsbad.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards, conducting inspections, and promoting best practices in electrical safety within the organization. 📍

What You’ll Do:- Serve as the primary contact on electrical safety and administer the LANL Electrical Safety Program.
- Act as a resource for LANL employees and managers regarding electrical safety concerns.
- Conduct incident investigations and determine root causes, developing corrective actions as necessary.
- Perform workplace condition inspections to identify electrical hazards in various environments.
- Lead reviews of Integrated Work Documents (IWD) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Contribute to the development of codes, standards, and specifications for electrical equipment safety.
- Provide advanced support to engineers/scientists in solving complex technical problems.
- Participate in the evaluation of controlled items and services for compliance with electrical safety requirements.
- Perform calculations to determine electrical severity scores for incidents.
- Develop written electrical safety policies, procedures, and design standards.
- BS and 2 years of field experience (or equivalent combination of education and/or experience).
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q level security clearance.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical safety standards including NFPA, IEEE, and OSHA, particularly NFPA 70E.
- Experience with electrical engineering/technology in various applications such as low voltage AC and DC systems.
- Significant experience with personal computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated expert communication and organizational skills for presenting complex technical information.
- Ability to pass Radiological Worker II training.
