DESCRIPTION:
Under direct supervision of the Office of Emergency Management Director, Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety of personnel and property by managing a comprehensive safety program, including safety policy development, accident investigations, safety audits/inspections of all County departments. Safety Officer position requires a proactive approach to safety management. Will conduct training and/or arrange for training specific to departments within the County.
Will ensure compliance with all County, State, and Federal laws, rules, regulations, and training regarding health and safety of employees and protection of property. Candidates should be well-versed in relevant safety regulations, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate a commitment to promoting a safe working environment. Safety Officer will oversee Risk Management and will direct, plan, organize, and administer the risk management and worker compensation programs to control risk.
Employee may be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings, both in and out of state, and perform other duties as assigned.
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $36.12 - $39.86 per hour DOE
