Responsibilities
  • The operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the packaging equipment.
  • Set up a packaging machine to run various sizes and types of bagged products.
  • Monitor and regulate the flow of product to the packaging machine.

    The operator must set up the net weighing scales for the targeted weight.
  • Monitor the overall quality of machine output and remove inferior products.
  • Troubleshot and identified the machine malfunction.
  • Manually stack finished bags, weighing up to 80 lbs, on a wooden pallet as needed.
  • Re-stack packaged products as needed.
  • Set up and maintain date coders.
  • Maintain a clean work area free of potential hazards.
  • All work assignments must be conducted in accordance with company and MSHA safety guidelines.
  • The operator must maintain the utmost level of product quality.

Responsibilities are not limited to the above and will also include other jobs assigned by their supervisor.

  • The employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, walk, and use their hands and arms for handling, reaching, and interacting with other technicians. Additionally, the employee may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The role involves regularly lifting and/or moving up to 80 pounds and frequently handling more than 80 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also be able to hear warning sirens, alarms, and other surrounding equipment.
