Job Responsibilities
This is a full-time on-site role, based in Orla, TX, for a Night Lease Operator. The Night Lease Operator will be responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment, reporting production data, and ensuring optimal performance of oil and gas wells. This role will report directly to the Production Superintendent. Daily tasks include performing routine maintenance, conducting safety inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, production reporting, and coordinating with engineers and roustabouts for operational efficiency.
Other responsibilities include rebuilding fluid and gas valves (Kimray), hand gauging tanks when needed, assisting roustabouts when needed, stating/stopping and operating natural gas compressors for gas lift, new well flowback and gas lift troubleshooting.
Schedule is 8 days on, 6 days off from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. CST. This position will work closely with other lease operators, engineers, the IT/Automation department, SWD department and the Production Superintendent to troubleshoot and resolve issues in the field. Trending meters and pressures daily is required to verify the accuracy of scada readings and is a requirement of the job.
When new wells are brought online, the night pumper will be on-site for commissioning of the battery (if between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.), as well checking on said battery 4-5 times daily for the first 3 months of production. Lease operator will be trained both internally and by industry leading service providers, such as ESP training, gas lift training, vessel operation training, compressor training, valve rebuilding training and various other skills.

* will use to commute to and from work, but only Capitan personnel may ride in the company vehicle at any time. This is strictly enforced - All servicing of vehicle will be done at our field office by our in-house mechanic, but it will be lease operators responsibility to keep up with and schedule servicing of vehicle
- Minimum 3 years pumping experience
- Experience with gas lift, ESPs and other artificial lift methods
- Willing to complete daily tasks such as hand gauging tanks, rebuilding valves, assisting roustabouts, plumbing in chemical injection, starting/stopping gas lift compressors and pulling H2S tubes.
