Job Title: Mine Operator
Reports To: Mine Shift Supervisor
Location: New Mexico – East Plant

(Relocation bonus or use of company housing is available for candidates who qualify.)

OVERVIEW

A Mine Operator operates and monitors mine equipment to produce quality products safely and efficiently. This position requires attention to detail and problem-solving skills to make adjustments and fix issues.

We also have underground maintenance and electrical positions available.

JOB DUTIES

• Operate mine equipment, including but not limited to: miner (machine that cuts ore), roof bolter (to mount a 3’ bolt in the roof of the mine), dozer, and shuttle car.
• Assist in the production process, such as changing bits in the miner, moving power cables, and shoveling conveyor belt tail sections.
• Complete pre-shift inspections, preventative maintenance, and equipment cleanup to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Minimum one (1) year of general labor and/or industrial plant experience.

SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

4x3 Rotating Shift

Schedule:

4 12-hour shifts on weekdays, 3 days off, then rotate to night shift from 7pm to 7am. Schedule is subject to change.

• Underground mining environment, often poorly lit and at low heights.
• Exposed to loud noises from machinery and vehicles. Employees must wear safety attire and PPE at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standing, walking, sitting (while driving), squatting, visual inspections, precise hand movements, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, grasping.
• Must lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Engagement in strenuous physical activity and PPE use required.

A pre-placement physical and hair follicle drug test are required. Placement is contingent upon clearance of these tests.
