Surface KMAG Operator

International Minerals Carlsbad, INC.is seeking a safety-focused Surface KMAG Operator who is responsible for safely operating, monitoring, and controlling processing equipment within the KMAG production area to maximize product quality, production efficiency, and equipment reliability. This position monitors process feed streams, performs routine equipment inspections, records operating data, and works closely with Operations and Maintenance personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations.

• Operate and monitor KMAG processing equipment and process feed streams to maximize product quality while minimizing material loss.
• Monitor plant operations and adjust equipment to maintain safe, efficient, and continuous production.
• Calculate process requirements and accurately record production and operational data from various sources.
• Inspect equipment to verify proper mechanical and process operation and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.
• Identify operating issues, troubleshoot process abnormalities, and communicate concerns to supervision or maintenance personnel.
• Assist with equipment start-up, shutdown, inspections, and routine operational checks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Communicate and coordinate daily activities with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and fellow operators to support safe and efficient plant operations.
• Participate in continuous improvement and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to maximize equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Recent industrial operating experience in mining, mineral processing, manufacturing, chemical processing, or other heavy industrial environments preferred.
• Ability to safely operate industrial process equipment while maintaining production and quality standards.
• Ability to learn all process circuits, including PLC and HMI operating systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and correct operating issues.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations; basic chemistry knowledge is preferred.
