Location:

Carlsbad, NM. Facility size: 99 beds; unit includes 6 operating rooms with approximately 250 procedures per month. Patient ratio: 1:1. 48GHs is NOT approved.

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning for the care of the patient in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN works with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, OR Techs, and other personnel to provide patient care in the Operating Room according to State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, regulatory standards, physician orders, and hospital/Surgical Department policies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ensuring supplies, ensuring timely case flow, communicating with families, updating physician preference cards, scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgical cases, and supervising personnel delivering patient care.

• 2+ years of RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• Experience with general, orthopedics, OBGYN, podiatry, plastics, endoscopy, and robotics (DaVinci) trauma cases
• Adult and pediatric experience required
