RN, RN Nurse, Surgical Assistant

Carlsbad, CA

This is a 13-week contract position.

Days, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with required on-call shifts.

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of patients in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN works closely with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, OR Technicians, and other personnel to provide patient care according to state regulations, professional standards, and hospital policies.

• Ensuring availability of supplies and timely progression of surgical cases
• Communicating effectively with families and team members
• Updating physician preference cards
• Scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgical cases

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the operating room
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Experience with general, ortho, OBGYN, podiatry, plastics, endo, and trauma procedures
• Adult and pediatric nursing experience
