Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and floating to ER and Med-Surg units.

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 2+ years of recent ICU experience required
• ER and Med-Surg experience preferred
• TNCC certification preferred
• Experience with vents, titratable drips, mixing medications, and patient hygiene care preferred
• No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment
• Active driver's license required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers

• 12-bed ICU with a 1:2-3 patient ratio
• ICU patient total care including ventilators, titratable drips, mixing medications, and hygiene care
• Day shift, 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
• Floating required to ER and Med-Surg departments per a float rotation log
• When floating to ER, performs general nursing tasks such as passing meds, transporting patients, starting IVs, and blood draws rather than taking a patient assignment
• When floating to Med-Surg, may take a full assignment of up to 6 patients or act as an aide for up to 12 patients
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Med Host EMR
• Scrubs of any color are accepted
• Provide direct, total patient care within the ICU and support other departments as needed during floating assignments
• Holiday coverage required
• 48-hour guaranteed weeks are not approved
• Blocked scheduling may be accommodated if requested at the time of application
• RTO requests must be less than one week
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius will not be considered
• Travelers who worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
