• Schedule: 9/80 – employees work 9 of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, and have every other Friday off
• Job Description: The Engineering Bid and Proposal Lead will drive success in bidding and proposal processes. Reporting to the Manager of Programs and Business Development, the role collaborates with Business Development and Engineering teams to develop competitive cost bids and high‑quality technical volumes for military and commercial proposals. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong technical and project‑management skills.

• Support end‑to‑end development of engineering bids and proposals, ensuring timely submission of accurate and competitive cost bids and technical volumes.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Engineering teams to translate technical solutions into clear, persuasive proposal content.
• Support creation of cost estimates, ensuring alignment with project scope, technical requirements and budgetary constraints. Write and review bases of estimates (BOEs).
• Support development of technical volumes, ensuring content is accurate, compliant with RFP requirements, and effectively communicates value.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality and success rates.
• Evaluate technical and cost‑related risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Act as primary point of contact for internal teams and external partners, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
• Ensure all proposals meet customer specifications, contractual requirements and internal quality standards.
• Travel: 5–10 % of the time to customers and/or suppliers may be required.

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 2 years of prior proposal management experience. Graduate degree or equivalent with 0–2 years experience, or 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

• Experience in aerospace/defense, U.S. government, commercial and international markets.
• Experience supporting firm‑fixed‑price and cost‑plus programs.
• Background in structures and materials and processes engineering for metal and composite components.
• Experience in an AS9100‑registered organization.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience coordinating with departments such as Engineering, Scheduling and Program Management.
• Excellent written, oral and team communication skills.

Compensation
:
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $65,500 to $121,500.
