Senior Regional WHS Manager

The Senior Regional Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager partners with AMZL delivery station (XLDS) operations to execute WHS policies, ensure compliance with local and regional regulations, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce ergonomic and conditional risk. The role builds trust with the Operations Team, influences change through risk assessments and safety data analysis, and instructs and trains Operations Leaders on WHS standards.

Responsibilities
  • Understand local/regional regulations and company WHS policy.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon WHS policies.
  • Measure region’s and sites’ performance against published WHS requirements; lead improvement plans when deficiencies are identified.
  • Maintain WHS recordkeeping, data integrity, and accurate reporting to support business WHS initiatives.
  • Deliver on-time and quality WHS projects to Operations.
  • Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends weekly and monthly to justify resource allocation to high‑risk areas.
  • Analyze Global Safety Peer Review results and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to risks and prevent injury at XLDS.
  • Audit recordkeeping practices and Global WHS Database entries to ensure compliance with global WHS standards and local regulations.
  • Audit workplace organization and Associate behaviors to ensure training, auditing, and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.
  • Manage and mentor Regional WHS Managers and Multi‑Site WHS Managers on their team.
  • Spend time at delivery stations and seek input from WHS teams, Associates, and leaders on program improvement opportunities; communicate status of progress and resolution.
  • Lead soft tissue injury reduction efforts by performing targeted Kaizens in partnership with Operations teams based on identified risks (force, repetition, awkward postures).
  • Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy; audit training quality, delivery, and effectiveness.
  • Review effectiveness of deployed WHS tools and revise for continual improvement.
  • Partner with corporate and other regional field WHS personnel to leverage global WHS and environmental best practices into NA network standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, service operations, or relevant experience applicable to the role.
  • 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management.
  • Certified Safety Professional preferred.
  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Work in a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, as required to support direct reports and site needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with Directors and VPs.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Prior experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic organization.

Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
  • Work in an environment where the noise level varies and temperature and weather conditions are variable.
  • Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs).
  • Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site.
  • Must obtain adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 3 weeks of start date.

The base salary range for this position is $126,700 - $271,100 annually in National and $140,800 - $246,400 annually in Colorado. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
