Locum Consultant in Haematology - Location:
Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen, Wales - Shifts:
09:00am – 17:00pm, Monday to Friday; on-call 1:5 - Rates: £110 - £125 per hour (PAYE)

- Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, preoperative, operative and postoperative patient care.
- Actively support patients and families; communicate clinical information to explain diagnoses and treatment options.
- Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment; monitor patient progress.
- Communicate with patients and the multidisciplinary team to support shared decision making.
- Work in, and where appropriate lead, a multidisciplinary team.
- Assess and prioritise patient requirements and delegate effectively to others.
- Recognise, review, and report changes in a patient’s condition to the team.
- Perform administrative tasks such as recording test results, writing prescriptions, and monitoring treatment plans.
- Contribute to research to develop and test techniques and equipment to improve procedures and outcomes.
- Teach and train junior doctors, medical students, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- GMC registered Doctor with license to practice (not required to be on the Specialist Register).
- Relevant experience at Consultant level, or references supporting progression to Consultant level.
- Ideally NHS experience.
- Right to Work in the UK (no visa sponsorship for locum roles).
- Enhanced DBS check required.
