We are seeking dedicated and motivated Specialty Doctors in Anaesthetics to join our supportive teams at Glangwili General Hospital and Prince Philip Hospital in beautiful West Wales. These substantive posts offer the opportunity to contribute to a high-quality anaesthetic and critical care service across a range of clinical settings, including theatres and critical care areas, with participation in a 24/7 on-call rota.

Following a comprehensive induction programme, the successful candidate will participate fully in the Specialty Doctor rota, including evening, night and weekend commitments. The eight-week rota provides exposure to elective and emergency theatre work, critical care responsibilities and dedicated Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) time.

Rota placements are tailored according to individual experience and competency sign-off, with a strong emphasis on ongoing support, supervision and professional development. We are committed to helping doctors develop their skills and progress through competency frameworks, ensuring the delivery of a safe, effective and high-quality anaesthetic service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting elective and emergency anaesthetic services across the department.
• Providing first-line management of acute medical and surgical emergencies.
• Contributing to the care of critically ill patients within the Intensive Care Unit.
• Participating in the SAS on-call rota, including out-of-hours commitments.
• Engaging in clinical governance activities, including audit, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Maintaining professional development and supporting service improvement opportunities.
