Assistant Head of Corporate Reporting

Responsibilities

• Senior role for delivering the Finance Directorate Corporate Reporting and Financial Planning agenda.
• Deliver key monthly reporting outputs right first time with supporting commentary, both internally and externally to the organisation.
• Support the finance elements of the Annual Planning process.
• Responsible for the management of the team's work programmes.
• Supporting the Deputy Head of Corporate Reporting, complete external and internal reporting requirements such as Welsh Government monitoring return, Public Board and Finance and Performance Committee financial reports.
• Co‑coordinate the Annual planning process within the Finance department and produce outputs required for Direct Management Team review.
• Undertake regular reviews of processes within Finance and project manage the corporate reporting agenda.
• Contribute to the positive culture, governance and control arrangements of the team, maintain current working practices and lead by example while developing and implementing continuous improvement.
• Manage the finance timetables and support constructive challenge across all teams of processes, procedures and information in an independent, unbiased and transparent manner.
• Lead on the provision of complex analysis including staff group pay award modelling calculations, macroeconomic inflationary analysis and modelling for inclusion in the Health Board annual plan submission, providing the Board with a range of options.
• Be solely responsible for the completion of specific requirements within the submissions and complete and communicate these reports, either in writing or verbally, while upholding the highest professional standards due to the contents of reporting containing highly politically sensitive information.

• CCAB or CIMA qualification required.
• Welsh language ability desirable;
  Learning support available for those not meeting Welsh Language requirements.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties. We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in‑hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.   Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire.
• Two integrated care centres:
  Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings.
• 47 general practices (six of which are health-board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontics); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers.
• Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services.
