Job Summary
This is Fixed Term / Secondment until 16.02.2027. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application. This is an opportunity for a qualified counsellor to join our team. You will work in a supportive team environment with flexible working, supporting adults by providing specialist bereavement counselling from Glangwili General Hospital site in Carmarthenshire.
Main duties of the job
You will provide bereavement counselling to service users within Carmarthenshire. Conduct assessments and deliver counselling support using a mixed model approach (face to face, telephone, online). Work autonomously as part of a team alongside other healthcare professionals. Travel to other sites within the county, such as Ty Bryngwyn, as required. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable;
English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

Person Specification
Essential – qualifications and knowledge
- Registered with BACP
- Relevant Diploma in Counselling or equivalent
- Evidence of relevant Grief practice
Desirable – qualifications
- Related Counselling qualifications
- Working towards accreditation
Essential – experience
- Working in adult Grief/Bereavement Counselling
- Receiving Clinical Supervision
- In depth knowledge of bereavement care and experience of its delivery
Desirable – experience
- Evidence of broad spectrum of relevant Counselling experience
- Experience of pre‑bereavement care and its delivery
Language Skills – desirable
- Welsh speaker (Level
1)
