We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Carmarthen to assist with the appointment of a Community Employment Mentor, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion.
Rate of Pay
: £16.11 - £21.08 per hour
The Community Employment Mentor will work within the Communities for Work Plus Programme, supporting a caseload of unemployed participants and individuals experiencing in-work poverty to overcome barriers to suitable and sustainable employment. The role will involve providing personalised mentoring and support, developing individual action plans, working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary services, and taking a holistic approach to helping customers access employment, education, training, and development opportunities.
Responsibilities- Manage and support a caseload of participants using a holistic, enabling, and collaborative approach.
- Mentor customers to overcome barriers to suitable and sustainable employment.
- Develop comprehensive individual action plans and undertake assessments and regular reviews.
- Support individuals to access employment, training, education, development opportunities, and other relevant services.
- Maintain regular contact with participants and track their progress for up to three months after completing the programme.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and files.
- HND or equivalent qualification in an appropriate field, such as Community Regeneration, Youth Work, or Business Studies.
- GCSEs in Maths and English.
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Advice & Guidance is desirable, or extensive relevant experience in this field.
- Minimum of2–3 years' experience working with individuals experiencing poverty and barriers to employment
. - Experience providing support and mentoring within an employment-based or similar intensive support service.
- Experience assessing customers and developing and implementing individual action plans.
- Experience working jointly with statutory and voluntary agencies.
- Experience working with hard-to-reach customers with multiple needs.
- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
- You should have right to work in U.K
