Come and join our teamWe are seeking suitably qualified & registered Social Workers (degree in Social Work, Dip Sw, CQSW) who have experience of working in a demanding environment across Health and Social Care with the knowledge of community and hospital settings.
Applicants should be motivated and experienced individuals who have the ability to work in partnership with a range of organisations, services and health professionals to produce assessments, develop care and support plans, reviews and direct work that are person centred and outcome focused.
As a newly qualified Social Worker, you will have the best start with dedicated support to grow into your social work career. We also recognise the immense value of experience and the complex work experienced Social Workers undertake. You will have the opportunity to progress in social work practice (outside of a management pathway) via our ‘Experienced Practitioner Progression Framework’. Successful progression offers the higher range salary reward.
Applicants should be conversant with relevant legislation and statutory obligations and will need to be able to demonstrate an active commitment to the principles of promoting independence for people with disabilities.
The position is linked to Carmarthenshire’s Releasing Time to care and review team covering adults with physical disabilities and older adults with cognitive difficulties. This post is based in Carmarthen and cover the whole county. Please see Person Specification for magnitude of post.
The ability to travel within the county is essential.
A basic knowledge of Welsh is required to accomplish this post. Support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.

The ‘Framework’ recognises Social Workers who have completed their consolidation programme, and who routinely undertake complex social work practice. It also recognises those Social Workers who undertake relevant post qualifying, CPD programmes and research, which could include being a Practice Educator who has 2nd and 3rd year Students, or an AMHP licenced and practicing within the Authority.
An Enhanced with Barred List Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requested for this job. It is an offence to apply for the role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children or adults at risk
Level 3 - You will need a good level of conversational Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level
