Working with young adults aged 16-25 who have complex needs-such as mental health challenges, substance use, or experiences of domestic abuse-you will deliver person-centred support that empowers individuals to develop key life skills, take control of their rights, and shape their own lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independence & Resilience: Assist young people with tenancy management, personal budgeting, digital inclusion, and accessing education or training opportunities.
  • Safeguarding & Advocacy: Promote self-advocacy, safeguard vulnerable adults and young people, and liaise with external health, legal, and community services.
  • Collaborative Working: Participate in clear shift handovers, work alongside multi-agency networks, and maintain accurate support records.
  • Positive Impact: Support clients with life skills, emotional wellbeing, and positive parenting where applicable.

Essential Criteria :
  • Experience: Proven track record of supporting vulnerable individuals with complex needs (e.g., domestic abuse, mental health, substance use).
  • Skills: Excellent communication, conflict de-escalation, and team-working abilities, with proficiency in basic IT (MS Office/Teams).
  • Knowledge: Sound understanding of safeguarding protocols, GDPR, and maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Flexibility: Ability to cover mornings, evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties.
  • Requirements: Good general education, full UK driving licence, and access to a vehicle for business use.
Desirable Criteria:
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Social Care, Housing, Youth Work, or a related field.
  • Training or awareness in trauma-informed practice, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), mental health support, or substance misuse.
  • Familiarity with tenancy sustainment, welfare benefits, and the Housing Support Grant framework.

You will work in a supportive, value-driven environment focused on fairness, flexibility, and inspiring positive change. We offer ongoing learning, regular supervision, reflective practice, and opportunities to complete formal care and support qualifications within your first 18 months.

If you are resilient, calm under pressure, and ready to make a real difference to young lives, we would love to hear from you.
