An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Social Worker to join Carmarthenshire's well-established Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) on a temporary basis until July 2027.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality mental health services across the Carmarthen area. The post is available as maternity leave cover and offers valuable experience for both experienced practitioners and those at the beginning of their social work career.

We are looking for a registered Social Worker (Degree in Social Work, DipSW or CQSW) who is committed to making a positive difference to the lives of people experiencing mental health difficulties. Applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service. Experience of working with individuals with mental health needs and complex circumstances would be advantageous.

The Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification is desirable, and additional remuneration is available for those undertaking AMHP duties.

The successful candidate will:

• Manage a caseload of individuals experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties.
• Act as a Care Coordinator under the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.
• Undertake assessments and interventions in accordance with the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014.
• Work collaboratively with individuals, families, carers and partner agencies to promote recovery and independence.
• Deliver person‑centred interventions that are guided by co‑production principles and focused on understanding "what matters" to the individual.

You will possess strong assessment, care planning and review skills, alongside a commitment to partnership working and delivering positive outcomes for people who use our services.
