As the Paraplanner, with these shared values, you will actively participate in all phases of the financial planning process. You will be responsible for supporting our advisory team in several key areas, including data gathering and analysis, development of financial planning recommendations, implementation, and complex case research and resolution. Additionally, there will be duties around reporting, meeting preparation and attendance, client paperwork, and anything else that may help to move the business forward.

You will anticipate needs, resolve problems, and follow through on agreed upon deliverables. An excellent communicator who can grasp others’ needs and develop ways to fulfill them is necessary; as well as the ability to move through your work efficiently while recognizing that the detailed work in our business is critical.

Responsibilities:

  • Support advisory team with preparation of well-polished documentation and presentation materials for meetings
  • Attend and participate in meetings with prospects and existing clients for the purpose of note taking
  • Record meeting notes on topics covered, changes in client’s needs, and action items
  • Summarize meeting and schedule action items in contact management software
  • Complete all action items utilizing firm processes and procedures
  • Participate in collaborating with clients to establish short term and long term financial goals, such as retirement planning, investment growth, education funding, estate planning, and tax optimization
  • Coordinate financial plan development, including initial financial plan data entry and working with advisory team to develop recommendations; continuously monitor plan and make any necessary changes
  • Conduct research and analysis on investment products; evaluate potential investment solutions, presenting findings to advisory team
  • Assist with evaluating clients’ current financial situation and needs as it relates to insurance coverage, tax planning, retirement planning, estate planning, and risk mitigation; recommend appropriate solutions to the advisory team
  • Research complex situations, set client expectations, and define the actions necessary to resolve inquiries in a timely manner
  • Continuously monitor client data across various platforms for accuracy and continuity
  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as processing paperwork, assisting with scheduling, and other client service support items

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in finance, financial planning, or a related field
  • Experience in the wealth management industry, supporting one or more financial advisors preferred
  • Industry licenses and/or CFP designation preferred, but not required
  • Industry-specific software/platform experience required; familiarity with Redtail and Asset Map preferred
  • Experience working with SEI as custodian preferred
  • Intermediate-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required
  • Excellent attitude, professional demeanor, and an extraordinary client service orientation
  • The ability to be a self-starter, critical thinker, problem-solver, and goal-oriented team player
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), relationship building, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, delegate, and manage a busy workload
