Overview

This is a full‑time Radiation Therapist position located at Schwarz Cancer Center in Carmel, IN. The hours are 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday. No call, travel or holiday required. 1 Varian True Beam, treating on average 25–30 patients a day. A second Varian True Beam will go live early in 2027. Responsible for applying ionizing radiation to patients for therapeutic purposes in accordance with the prescription and instruction of a radiation oncologist.

Controls the exact amount of radiation to be administered locally, reproduces treatment fields, and ensures exposure is made only to prescribed areas. Requires high levels of quality control, safety, treatment planning and administration, patient care, and patient scheduling, and may be asked to mentor students during clinical rotations.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Registered RT (T) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Registry eligibility is required; for Registry‑eligible candidates the candidate must pass the exam within three months of hire date. RT (T) license as issued and required by the Indiana State Department of Health is required.
  • Requires current BLS certification.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of the technical aspects of radiation oncology, including operation of complex equipment, application of mathematical computation for treatment planning and design production, and implementation of beam‑altering devices.
