Occupational Therapist Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patient’s functional status including muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self-care ability, work capacity, etc.
  • Evaluate home environment for hazards and barriers to more independent living.
  • Participate in the development of the individualized plan of care including equipment needs.
  • Develop treatment program and establish goals for improved function.
  • Communicate plan of care to referring physician and other organization professionals.
  • Teach new skills or retrain patients in once familiar daily activities that have been lost due to illness or injury, in accordance with the agency's policy.
  • Maintain appropriate clinical records, progress notes, and reports to the physician or advanced practice practitioner regarding any changes in the patient’s condition. Submit records in accordance with the agency's policy.
Required Qualifications
  • A graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • 1-year clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred.
  • Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Requires interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally and effectively with staff, patients, and caregivers.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Able to demonstrate problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to handle multiple priorities, documentation requirements and deadlines.
  • Reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance coverage.
  • Position requires sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently.
  • Ability to lift at least 35 lbs and bear the weight of an average adult effectively.
Desired Qualifications
  • Home Health experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Home Care Home Base (HCHB).

    Hours:

    8 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday.
  • Per Diem.
  • Weekend Rotation.

Pay Range: $29–$31 USD.
