DescriptionIndiana University Health is seeking an Orthopedic Cast Tech to join our Pediatric Orthopedic team at Riley Hospital for Children. The Cast Tech is an integral part of the orthopedic team working alongside surgeons and advanced practice providers to ensure high quality of care to pediatric patients presenting with a variety of illnesses and injuries affecting the musculoskeletal system. As a Pediatric Orthopedic Cast Tech, you will have the opportunity to join a team of highly skilled medical experts with a mission to deliver preeminent medical care and service to our patients.
Job Responsibilities- Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating the ability to multitask, problem solve, and support various providers
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure the environment is optimal for patient care
- Assist physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical care team during examination
- Perform a variety of office-based procedures including dressing changes, suture removal, staple removal, casting application, and casting removal
- Preparation of clinical charts as deemed necessary
- Obtain patient vitals and prepare patients for clinical examination
- Assist with room turnover and stocking supplies
- Manage patient messages and inquiries
- Full Time
- Monday – Friday
- No Holidays
- No Weekends
- Days

- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
- Orthopedic technician certification preferred.
- Successful completion of ortho technician orientation required upon hire.
