Base Pay Range

$58,000.00/hr - $70,000.00/hr

Essential Functions
  • Ensures events progress seamlessly by following established procedures and collaborating with other employees.
  • Ensures billing accuracy and conducts bill reviews with customers prior to final billing.
  • Manages group room blocks and meeting space for average to large‑sized assigned groups.
  • Identifies operational challenges associated with groups and determines how to best work with property staff and customers to solve those challenges.
  • Uses good judgment to integrate current trends in event management and design.
  • Acts as liaison between field sales personnel and customers throughout the event process.
  • Participates in customer site inspections and assists with the sales process as needed.
  • Solicits feedback from property departments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develops strong community and public relations by ensuring property participation in local, regional, and national trade shows and client events.
  • Participates in sales calls with the Sales and Marketing team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
  • Identifies public relations opportunities and coordinates activities to augment the overall marketing communication strategy.
  • Forecasts group sleeping rooms and event revenue.
  • Assists in sales process and revenue forecasting for customer groups.
  • Supports the General Manager by coordinating crisis communications.
  • Works with Human Resources, Engineering and Loss Prevention to ensure compliance with local, state, federal regulations and/or union requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Executes and supports Service and Brand Standards.
  • Provides exemplary customer service to drive satisfaction and loyalty.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly responsible, reliable, and ethical.
  • Well organized and detail‑oriented.
  • Ability to multi‑task.
  • Ability to identify and address customer opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous experience as a Catering & Events Manager or Supervisor (preferred in hospitality).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.
Physical Demands
  • Requires prolonged sitting, use of hands and fingers repetitively, extended computer use, use of office equipment, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling or crouching, frequent walking, climbing stairs, talking and hearing.
  • Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds, frequently lifts up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires strong near, distance, and color vision.
  • Must operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
Qualification Standards
  • High school education required; college education preferred.
  • Prior experience in Sales Manager or Supervisor role.
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  • Hotel event experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Marriott systems preferred (CI/TY, Opera PMS, etc.).
