Schwarz Partners has an exciting opportunity available for aVice President of Human Resources. The Vice President of Human Resources provides executive-level leadership and guidance to the organization’s HR operations. The Vice President is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals. The Vice President is an HR “expert” who provides full-function support for the Human Resources Department, including payroll, employee relations, safety, and benefit administration functions.
This position requires that the successful individual becomes a trusted advisor and consultant for the executive leadership team and our business unit leaders across the organization.
This is an in-office position based out of our Central Office in Carmel, IN.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
- Overall responsibility for staffing decisions for the HR department, including payroll, HCM, recruiting, employee relations, safety, benefits administration, and otherwise contributing to the function and success of the HR Department. This position will also assist in the selection process of high-level positions across the business units.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define the organization’s long-term mission and goals and how HR policies, practices, and procedures can best support these initiatives.
- Access, read, interpret, and communicate important HR information and updates from all available resources to ensure compliance with the relevant best practices, laws, and regulations.
- Identify HR-related opportunities for improvements – both policy and procedure – recommend and help implement potential solutions.
- Provide guidance to the human resource management team; assist with the resolution of human resource, compensation, benefit, and safety questions, concerns, and issues.
- Ensure oversight and compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, payroll, and safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
- Currently providing leave management expertise and guidance while managing the relationship with a 3rd party vendor and individual cases at our plant locations.
- Provide guidance and support to local management and outside counsel for matters involving negotiations and administration for CBA’s at our unionized locations.
- Member of the 401(k) Administrative and Investment Committees.
- Fiduciary responsibility for the 401(k) and health & welfare benefit plans.
- Lead due diligence for all HR and Payroll matters for all acquisitions and divestures.
- Participate in professional development and networking conferences and events to stay current and informed in all areas of responsibility.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third party vendors that can be long-term solutions and partnerships for all areas of responsibility.
- Coordinate and participate in the decision making on annual salary and bonus reviews for Schwarz Partners, L.P. employees.
- Assist Executive Leadership team with succession planning for key positions.
- Coordinate the annual Schwarz Family Foundation Scholarship campaign with the family and the scholarship service.
- This is a full-time position in our Carmel, IN office. Regular and predictable on-site attendance is required.
- Travel for first year could be extensive – possibly 30-40% to visit different locations and engage with your customers.…
