Title: Director of Information Systems
Department: Operations
Supervisor’s Title: Senior Director of Operational Strategy
Position Status: Full-time, exempt
Position Location: Carmel, IN (preferred)
Annual Compensation: $60,000

Position Summary: Responsible for the management, implementation and strategic planning of Sigma Kappa’s technology infrastructure, systems and services. This role oversees the development and maintenance of business applications, data management systems, and IT operations to ensure efficiency, security, and alignment with Sigma Kappa’s goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information services, project management or related field of study.
  • Working knowledge of membership databases (ASI/iMIS) or comparable system required.
  • Experience with database environments and understanding multiple integration points.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 products (PC and MAC), Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, and SSRS report writing.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience, preferably within association management, non-profit management or membership-based organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, maintain, and develop strategies for the Sigma Kappa membership database, collaborating with staff on integrated systems.
  • Create database reports and train staff in self-service reporting as needed.
  • Manage third-party vendors supporting information technology (IT) and information systems (IS) infrastructure, including hardware, software, internet and network services.
  • Oversee and project manage IT/IS initiatives; train staff on technological enhancements and best practices.
  • Maintain IT records, control systems, and administer user access and privileges.
  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery, backup procedures and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network, hardware, and software issues; coordinate with vendors for maintenance and repair.
  • Develop and manage the IT/database budget.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to staff and volunteers including troubleshooting hardware and software issues; assisting with access to internal systems and providing training or documentation to ensure consistent and efficient use of technology tools and platforms.
  • Collaborate across departments and provide premier customer service to a wide range of end-users with varying technical proficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the senior director of operational strategy and/or chief executive officer.

Technology Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of database management and the ability to trouble shoot and assist with complex IT hardware issues.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft
    365 programs as necessary.
  • Ability and willingness to effectively use other job-related technology tools.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office 365 software programs and display the technical aptitude/willingness to learn internal systems.
  • Frequent use of a computer, general office equipment, and/or personal device (e.g., cell phone, tablet) is necessary.
  • Ability to project manage a variety of IT requests.
  • Be proficient in cybersecurity principles, risk management and compliance standards.

  • Promote the ongoing development of a service rapport with Sigma Kappa Sorority, Foundation and National Housing Corporation staff, chapters, volunteers and members.
  • Represent Sigma Kappa within related professional organizations as approved by the senior director of operational strategy and/or chief executive officer.
  • Provides technical support and guidance to staff and national volunteers.
  • Collaborates across teams and entities within the organization.
  • Offers premier customer service to a wide range of end-users with varying levels of comfort and familiarity with technology.
  • Demonstrate a positive, problem-solving mindset and a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
