The Scenter Assistant Manager is vital at Scenthound, offering strong leadership, sales expertise, and exceptional customer service. This role will help support both of our locations:
Carmel and Zionsville with a focus on becoming the General Manager at our 3rd location. This role is hourly, paid weekly, with performance-based bonuses paid monthly.
- Management or supervisory experience
- Customer service experience (retail, restaurant)
- Sales experience (preferably in a membership model)
- Strength to lift up to 70 pounds; stamina to stand for long periods of time
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness to work in a smoke-free environment
We seek a confident assistant manager who leads with integrity, honesty, and compassion. A successful Scenter Assistant Manager is an independent problem solver, adaptable, detail-oriented, and compassionate dog lover! We are looking for a HANDS-ON leader who can lead day-to-day operations of the Scenter, emphasizing critical KPIs:
Labor Efficiency, Membership Sales, Average Ticket Price, Rebook Ratio, etc.
- Drive membership sales through health and wellness education
- Maintain a knowledgeable team that prioritizes dog wellness and safety
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship for the Scenter employees
- Uphold quality standards through hands‑on participation, employee audits, and training
- Promptly and accurately communicate information from upper management to your team
- Identify when/where help is needed and provide assistance to keep Scenter on schedule
- Create an environment conducive to teamwork, open communication, and Scenthound values
- Manage client expectations;
Resolve customer concerns - Ensure the safety of dogs and team members at all times
- Adhere to Scenthound sanitary and cleaning practices
- Effective communication with team members and dog parents
- Problem-solving
- Attention to detail
- Time-management – ability to make an efficient schedule
- Computer/technology proficiency
