Horticulture Technician

Part-time Description

This position is responsible for caring for customers' plants/flowers on designated routes for Engledow Interior clients near Greencastle, Terre Haute, and Clinton. Care includes but is not limited to watering, pruning, cleaning, removing dead leaves and checking for bugs and disease on customers leased plants. Engledow Group standardized levels of quality and safety are to be met at each client location, as well as levels of good customer service.

The company headquarters is in Carmel, IN, but the position does not require travel to Carmel except for 1-2 times per year. Additionally this is a part-time role at 8-10 hours per week
. The work can be completed in one day, or split between multiple days during the week.

• Check each plant or color program to see how much water is needed and water according to Engledow quality standards.
• Remove all dead and/or yellow leaves from the plant in accordance with Engledow quality standards.
• Check for bugs and disease in the plants and treat according to Engledow quality standards.
• Prune branches, etc. that are not in accordance with Engledow quality standards.
• Dust the plant and wipe down the pot in accordance with Engledow quality standards.
• Clean up the work area around each plant prior to leaving the area in accordance with Engledow quality standards.
• Complete and continually update the paperwork necessary to map out each route with complete instructions for plant care at each location to be given to a substitute horticulture technician during any absence of the assigned horticulture technician.
• Complete all replacement paperwork and float orders in a timely manner and follow-up that the replacements have been completed and meet the client’s expectations.
• Complete all timesheets and expense reports, submitting them to the appropriate account manager in a timely manner.
• Turn plants to get the maximum amount of light to aid in improving growth in accordance with Engledow quality standards.
• Fertilize the plants in accordance with Engledow quality standards.
• Some physical work, such as carrying a 10 foot step ladder and pushing a watering tank around customer sites.
• Some work involving lifts and heights of 15-20 feet.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
