Job Description

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Greeting, engaging, and assisting customers actively and visibly.
• Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understanding and handling various tenders and checkout procedures per company policy.
• Adhering to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Following guidelines on restricted sale items.
• Reporting pricing discrepancies.
• Following policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Staying current with ads and promotions.
• Adhering to food safety regulations.
• Practicing safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
• Creating a welcoming environment and assisting customers with product questions.
• Complying with laws and company guidelines.
• Working cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
• Managing conflicts professionally.
• Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Following directions and seeking assistance when needed.
• Supporting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Customer service experience
• Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
