Job Description

As a Security Officer – Front Desk Access Control in Carmel, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at a leading Tech/Media/Telecom location, you will be the first point of contact, welcoming visitors and assisting employees while monitoring access control and managing badge procedures.

Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents and foster a welcoming environment. You will utilize your customer service skills and comfort with technology to provide a positive experience for all guests. Mon 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
Tue 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
Wed 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
Thur 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
Fri 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM

What You’ll Do:
  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site‑specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist visitors, employees, and/or contractors in the front desk area of a technology, media, or telecommunications location, providing a professional and welcoming experience.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials of individuals entering or leaving the premises to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Carry out security‑related procedures and follow site‑specific policies to maintain order and compliance within the facility.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including escalating situations to the appropriate personnel when needed.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, visitor logs, and incident reports as required by Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Provide customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting with directions or information requests related to the location.
  • Support emergency response activities by following established protocols and communicating with relevant personnel during incidents.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
