Maintenance Technician (Full-Time)

The Arc Mid-Hudson, one of the largest employers in the Hudson Valley, has an immediate opening for a full-time Maintenance Technician - providing coverage in Putnam County.

The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of three years of experience in a skilled building/construction trade or facility maintenance, including knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and the maintaining of buildings/grounds. Knowledge of the New York State building code and of common practices, tools, terminology and safety precautions is required. Must also have the ability to read plans and blueprints and possess basic computer skills.

A NYS Driver’s License and acceptable driving record are a must. Successful applicants will have the ability to work without close supervision, adapt to a wide variety of conditions and have pride in their workmanship. Overtime may be required at times, especially during inclement weather. 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Must be flexible.

Starting Salary: $20.81 - $22.90 per hour.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a skilled building/construction trade or facility maintenance.
• Knowledge of the New York State building Code and of common practices, tools, terminology and safety precautions.
• Must be able to read plans and blueprints and be able to follow written and oral instructions.
• Good gross motor skills, eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity and the ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills.
• Must possess a valid New York State driver's license and a driving record acceptable to The Arc Mid-Hudson, their insurance company and any other regulatory agencies.
