Accountant - Manufacturing Full Time
Full Time position in 165 Tubeway Dr. Carol Stream, 60188
We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Accountant to oversee our financial activities in the production and manufacturing division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Responsibilities
Cost AnalysisConduct cost analysis for manufacturing processes to identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvement.Conduct in-depth costing analysis to determine the true cost of goods sold.Analyze and report on variances between standard costs and actual production costs.Budgeting and Forecasting:Manage budgets for manufacturing operations.Prepare regular forecasts based on production plans and financial data.Inventory Management:Monitor and reconcile inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.Implement strategies to minimize excess inventory and reduce carrying costs.Prepare timely and accurate financial reports related to manufacturing activities.Provide management with insightful analysis and recommendations.Make necessary accruals and adjustments at the end of the month.Ensure compliance with monthly tax filings and reporting requirements.Daily/Weekly/Monthly account reconciliation and researching posting errors and rectify these issues.Cash Flow Management:Monitor weekly cash flows and ensure there is enough liquidity for operational needs.Weekly/Monthly reconciliation of bank processes and credit card transactions.Utilize the ERP system to track and record financial transactions related to manufacturing.Ensure data integrity and reliability within the ERP system.Compliance:Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.Collaborate with internal and external auditors during periodic audits.Stay updated on changes in tax regulations that may affect the manufacturing sector.Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Desired Skills
- Proven experience as a Manufacturing Accountant with in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in working with ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
