Outreach is hiring a Temporary Accountant at Outreach Central Office to support various accounting and finance functions and participate as a member of the Finance Office team. Full-time Temporary Employment from January 2026 until May 2026.

• $29.00 - $34.00/hour – based on education, experience, and skills.

• Process daily deposits, book accounts receivable, initiate online banking transactions, prepare bank reconciliations, and prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Maintain subsidiary ledgers, prepare monthly state sales tax filings, and process monthly retail sales tax filings with the state of Illinois.
• Receive rent payments and maintain reports for rent, security deposits, and current lease files for Jubilee Village Apartments and maintain reports for Transitional Housing program fees, security deposits and savings.
• Assist with monthly closing, reporting, account analysis, and preparing annual audit work papers.
• Report to the Controller, provide backup coverage for the other team members, support special one-time projects, and be cross‑trained in all accounting functions.

  Monday–Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• At least 3‑5 years of related experience.
• A/R experience preferred.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel and accounting software.
• Previous experience with Sage Intacct a plus.
• Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills; keen analytic skills, effective project management ability, ability to multi‑task and maintain a high‑level of attention to detail; ability to effectively collaborate with a team.
• A commitment to Outreach’s Statement of Mission and Faith required.
