Role

The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for leading the creation and maintenance of a positive safety culture throughout their assigned region; cultivating safety as a core value to be practiced by everyone at every level. This role will provide guidance to leadership and individuals to ensure safe working conditions and environmental practices that meet all HSE regulatory standards and industrial best practices.

The Regional Safety Manager will proactively support the corporate safety and environmental management systems to reduce incidents, injuries, and property loss, and ensure environmental compliance.

The position can work remotely, but commuting distance with a base out of one of the hub locations is preferred and will reduce the individual’s travel burden. This role is open for multiple locations, preferably Atlanta GA, Charlotte NC, Chicago IL, and Cranbury NJ.

Responsibilities
  • Reports directly to the Corporate Safety Manager.
  • Keeps the Corporate Safety Manager always informed of issues within assigned area of responsibility; escalates situations as needed to reach desired resolutions.
  • Prepare, maintain, assure timely submittal of all regulatory reporting including OSHA 300 log and injury records, Tier II Reporting, Environmental Inventory Questionnaires (EIQ), and other environmental reports identified, as necessary.
  • Provides monthly communications, reports regarding the HSE metrics and initiatives to each assigned facility.
  • Establishes and ensures that site locations are adhering to corporate standards, actively communicating within the assigned region to all Branch personnel regarding HSE related issues and are developing the appropriate corrective action plans.
  • Monitor and uphold employee health and safety by supporting the Employee Safety Ambassador Program.
  • Facilitate, lead, and support the implementation of HSE/Lean 5S continuous improvement projects utilizing effective change management techniques.
  • Actively supports and contributes to the development of a corporate HSE strategy.
  • Coordinate and analyze industrial hygiene sampling and exposure evaluations for chemical exposure, noise, dusts, vapors, mists, solvents which are known or suspected of being real or potential detriments to health.
  • Lead the implementation of HSE training, communication of programs and best practices. Ensures all HSE training courses meet or exceed all federal and state requirements.
  • Actively supports and contributes to site level root cause incident investigations assists in developing and implementing corrective actions to resolve HSE issues and track corrective action items to closure.
  • Evaluate and support the development of KPI HSE metrics and review weekly and monthly incident(s) to discover trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the safety risk is highest.
  • Collaborate with the HSE Team to develop and implement standardized programs to maintain full compliance with regulatory standards, with the goal of zero regulatory findings.
  • Conducts site visits to support the preparation and implementation of corporate procedures/requirements/programs that will ensure compliance with the Corporate HSE Management System (HSEMS) as well as federal/state/local regulations.
  • Provide onsite support to Branch level as well as perform annual HSE audits at all assigned regional locations.
  • Provide strategic direction to sustain a comprehensive system for hazard prevention and control.
  • Implement and maintain a behavior-based safety program to all assigned regional locations.
  • Collaborate with Branch leadership to ensure all programs are being fully executed. This includes developing and providing guidance to all Managers and safety personnel at all assigned regional locations.
