OPPORTUNITY: We are a Food service folding carton manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our Carol Stream, IL team. This job posting is for a Lead Conveyor Person with pay being $22.66/hour plus shift differentials.
JOB SUMMARY: Operates console that controls automatic palletizing equipment to sort, transfer, and stack on pallets the cases of finished product. Reads packaging specifications to ensure correct pallet type and arrangement of cases onto pallet matches specification.
JOB FUNCTIONS:Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Operates console that controls automatic palletizing equipment to sort, transfer, and stack on pallets the cases of finished product.
- Observes pallets moving along conveyor to identify defective cases, slip sheets or pallets.
- Turns selector switch on palletizer to control stacking arrangement of cases on pallet and to transfer loaded pallet to delivery platform.
- Supplies loading equipment with empty pallets and slip sheets.
- Stops and restarts equipment to clear jams.
- Informs supervisor of equipment malfunction.
- Operates automatic bagger equipment by threading bag and going through the startup process.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE /
SKILLS:
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Must be able to work other shifts if needed and perform overtime work as required.
- Qualified candidate will be mechanically inclined, solution oriented and have some computer knowledge.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
- Schedules are up to 8 or 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off.
- Must be willing and able to work overtime.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sitting or standing for extended periods.
- Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
- Physical and visual activities commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job:
- Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), carrying (up to 50 lbs.), pushing, pulling, twisting, kneeling, bending, reaching, going up and downstairs.
