Essential Job Functions- Loads and unloads the production line for broaching machines.
- Conducts visual inspections of in-process parts. Confirms parts meet specifications, or communicates required adjustments to Quality/Production supervisor.
- Separates rejected parts and attaches unacceptable materials tags on part baskets as required.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and scrap; writes data on appropriate quality forms.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calls for repairs.
- Changes or adjusts tooling as needed.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complies with legal regulations.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Six months’ experience to be proficient.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Basic math skills and attention to details.
- Knowledge of safety practices.
- Skill in both verbal and written communication.
- Ability to read and interpret piece part drawings and make decisions regarding part quality.
- Must have experience using measuring tools such as dial bore gauges and plug gauges.
Noise level moderate. Safety caps (where applicable), steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses required in all production areas. Hearing protection required in specific areas.
Physical Demands- Employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; chemicals, vibration, and loud noises.
- Safety shoes, safety glasses, chemical resistant gloves and bump caps for this position must be worn on the production floor. Other PPE may be required.
- Jobs on the production floor require a minimum 40‑hour workweek. Overtime may be required.
- The pace of work is steady and fast.
- Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- This position requires sufficient vision to see details at close range, so the person can pass an inspection test of finished parts and components.
