Job Description

Summary:

The Calibration Technician conducts calibrations and preventive maintenance of equipment used in the plant in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), company policy, and safety regulations. The role supports daily workflow and problem‑solves process issues to ensure consistent quality. The position reports within a calibration team through the Quality department and requires schedule flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work with other technicians in a dynamic work environment.

Essential /

Key Job Responsibilities (including supervisory and/or fiscal)
  • Calibrate manufacturing, inspection, measurement, and test equipment in the following subject areas – electrical, dimensional, optical, physical/mechanical, & chemical in order to ensure compliance with published specifications
  • Measure, compile, analyze and summarize data gathered during calibration
  • Be responsible for calibration activities of third‑party calibration service providers
  • Identify out‑of‑tolerance conditions and perform corrective action via adjustments, component replacement, etc.
  • Maintain secondary and/or working calibration standards
  • Prepare and review calibration reports, internal forms, certificates, and labels
  • Ability to use various types of inspection tools and adapt what to use to perform various types of inspections
  • Documents inspection data by completing inspection test reports and filing hard copies, scanning, and saving them online on respective computer documents file
  • Initiates Unscheduled Maintenance reports for nonconforming materials and equipment
  • Completes all required paperwork and tasks within established guidelines
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow established procedures to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  • Maintain high attention to detail, accuracy, and overall quality of work
  • Maintains work areas and equipment in a clean an orderly condition and follows prescribed BD safety policies and procedures
  • Understands and follows the established corporate safety standards, local facility operating procedures and safety policies
  • Follows Quality Systems Regulations and established procedures
  • Other duties, as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work as a standout colleague, perform as a self‑motivator, communicate effectively, follow written procedures, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to read and interpret data to reach a sound decision; read, interpret, and relay department requirements to other areas or staff
  • Ability to work in areas that contain radioactive materials
  • Consistently perform calibrations and other tasks with precision and professionalism
  • Ability to learn and adapt to dynamic requirements and methodologies in all aspects of the calibration program
  • Ability to work all shifts and overtime, as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a QA/QC environment
  • Experience in calibration or other measurement testing experience in the use of Regulatory Asset Management software (i.e. Blue Mountain RAM, Indysoft)
Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of calibration and or testing experience with measuring equipment
  • Proficiency in math is required
  • Proficient in the use of a PC with keyboarding & Microsoft Office skills
  • Must possess common tooling knowledge and skills
