Wieland is hiring a CDL Truck Driver. The role is based in Carol Stream, IL and is fully on-site. Responsibilities include delivering finished materials and/or picking up scrap, skids, to and from local or out-of-state customers, suppliers, and outside fabricators.
Hourly Pay Range:
24-26 per Hour

1st shift 7:30pm-4:00pm

Weekly
- Supervise the packaging and labeling of products by hourly personnel, consistently meeting customer needs
- As required by the D.O.T., a safety check of the tractor/trailer is performed prior to the delivery run (i.e., fluids, lights, tailgate, tires, etc.)
- Set up delivery route
- Supervise or help load the truck
- Check load with respect to trip documents (BOL, pack list, etc.)
- Deliver or pick up material
- Drive and deliver material to local or out-of-state customers/suppliers, etc.
- Pick up supplies or material
- Fill out the daily traffic log
- Maintain a Commercial Driver’s License with related classifications
- Report any truck maintenance or other issues in real time
- Perform applicable tasks other than listed above
- High School or Equivalent
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class
A), obtained by passing written and practical skill tests - Clean driving record
- Class A CDL License
- Minimum 2 years experience
- Driving
Skills:
safe and defensive driving, good judgment, quick reflexes, and ability to handle the vehicle in various weather conditions - Navigation: proficiency with GPS and strong navigational skills
- Mechanical Knowledge: ability to perform pre-trip inspection and basic troubleshooting
- Time Management: ability to manage time effectively to ensure on-time delivery
- Communication: clear and effective communication with dispatchers, clients and other personnel
- Regulatory Knowledge: understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Load Securement: properly and safely secure a load
- Problem Solving: ability to reason, solve problems, and react appropriately to unexpected situations
