Position: Science Teacher - 26/27 SY

Middle School Science Teacher (1.0 FTE) –  School Year

Middle School Science Teacher – Community Unit School District 300, Carpentersville, IL.

Responsibilities
  • Pick up district-issued computer in August 2026.
  • Attend Induction Academy I for teachers new to District 300 in August 2026.
  • Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated locations and times.
  • Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within available resources.
  • Prepare for classes, provide written evidence of preparation upon request of the principal.
  • Encourage student behavior standards and report compliance to appropriate administrators.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with physical limitations and student needs.
  • Implement district philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
  • Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Evaluate student progress on a regular basis.
  • Maintain accurate records as required by law, district policy, and regulations.
  • Assist in upholding school rules, administrative regulations, and Board Policy.
  • Provide availability to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
  • Participate in faculty meetings of reasonable length addressing relevant educational topics.
  • Collaborate with staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
  • Collaborate in selecting books, equipment, and instructional materials.
  • Accept co-curricular activity responsibilities as assigned.
  • Establish open communication lines with students and parents concerning academic and behavioral progress.
  • Maintain cooperative relations with others.
Qualifications
  • Illinois licensure with Middle School Science endorsement(s).
  • Knowledge of college readiness skills and experience with Common Core standards preferred.
  • Teamwork, collaboration, reflection, and continual improvement required.
