Dual Language Spanish/English Teacher (26/27 SY)
Community Unit School District 300 – Full‑time, 1.0 FTE, Bilingual Spanish/English. Position is for the 2026‑2027 school year.
Responsibilities- Pick up district‑issued computer in August 2026.
- Attend Induction Academy I for teachers new to D300 in August 2026.
- Meet and instruct assigned classes at scheduled locations and times.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of district resources.
- Prepare for classes and provide written evidence of preparation upon request of the principal.
- Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior; report to appropriate administrators information about compliance with school and district behavioral expectations, as well as state and federal laws.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location and the needs and capabilities of individual or student groups.
- Implement district philosophy of education, instructional goals, and objectives; reading training/background preferred with a strong knowledge of Response to Intervention and Common Core State Standards.
- Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Evaluate student progress regularly.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
- Make provision to be available to students and parents for education‑related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested under reasonable terms.
- Attend and participate in meetings involving faculty and other participants that address relevant educational topics as a legitimate function of professional educators.
- Collaborate with staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Collaborate in selecting books, equipment, and instructional materials.
- Accept shared responsibility for co‑curricular activities as assigned.
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and parents concerning overall academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
- Maintain cooperative relations with others.
Illinois licensure with Middle School and Bilingual (Spanish/English) endorsements required.
