Associate Principal of Operations
Position responsible for setting vision for student achievement and strategically implementing the school’s mission through effective leadership of all stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Works with administrators to achieve district's strategic plan and School Improvement Plan.
- Assists principal with managing learning environment, safety, and building management.
- Coordinates student activities and after‑school programming with the Athletic Director.
- Collaborates with other Associate Principals and central office to implement a consistent educational program and acquire resources.
- Oversees construction and facilities maintenance of the building.
- Supports professional growth of staff.
- Assists principal with parent and community support.
- Works with principal to articulate with middle schools and higher education institutions.
- Makes recommendations regarding hiring, tenure, dismissal, sanctions, and staff retention.
- Supervises Building Manager, Assistant Principals and Deans.
- Creates and implements programs to recognize achievements of students and staff.
- Assists with evening and weekend school events.
- May assume duties of other administrators in their absence.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with General Administrator Endorsement.
- Doctoral coursework preferred.
- Administrative Dean of Students experience preferred.
- Administrative Assistant Principal experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience as building-level administrator required.
- Extensive knowledge of policy and procedures related to building operations and maintenance.
- Knowledge of high schools and ability to work with students and adults.
- Goal‑oriented with strong team‑building skills.
- Active involvement in professional organizations that highlight new trends in education.
- Effective contribution to organizational and department goals as outlined in district strategic plan.
- Work effectively with diverse groups of individuals.
- Lead and facilitate group processes.
- Collaborate with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and external entities to raise academic performance.
- Work in a fast‑paced, high‑performing environment.
- Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong work ethic and self‑motivation.
- Initiate problem resolution without direction.
- Process large amounts of information and organize to present to individuals lacking firsthand knowledge.

- Use computer‑driven word processing, spreadsheet, and file maintenance programs and software.
- Interpret educational policies and procedures.
- Review and analyze assessment data collected by the district and Illinois State Board of Education.
