Quality Engineering Assistant – Communications
Company: OTTO Engineering, Inc.
Pay Range: $18.00/hr – $22.00/hr (actual pay will be based on skills and experience).
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and drive root cause analysis for customer product returns (RMA’s). Initiate and coordinate corrective and preventive actions and verify effectiveness. Work with Customer Service to address customer complaints on product issues.
- Generate quality documentation, data analysis, and reporting for Quality Engineers.
- Assist in Failure Analysis and Corrective Action programs with Quality Engineers.
- Generate, evaluate, and perform acceptance test procedures.
- Conduct source inspection per OTTO and/or customer requirements.
- Audit in‑process operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB), developing and addressing Material Review Reports (MRRs) and performing part analysis as directed by Quality Engineers.
- Participate in the maintenance of OTTO’s ISO 9000, ISO 14000, and AS9100 registrations.
- Provide training and oversight on various inspection procedures to production and quality personnel.
- Assist Quality Engineers with reviews of incoming, in‑process, and final inspections—including PCB assemblies, audio performance, cosmetic, product workmanship and component parts.
- Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in electronics preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience troubleshooting electronics.
- Experience with audio products and evaluating audio performance preferred.
- Strong advanced math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with mechanical, electrical, and audio measurement devices.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office.
- Availability for nonstandard or extended work hours.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to write detailed reports.
- Self‑motivation and ability to complete projects with strict guidelines.
- Ability to differentiate between colors and pass a standard hearing test.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of first‑piece inspection, PPAP, and AS9102.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9000, ISO 14000, and AS9100.
- Capable of lifting equipment up to 30 lbs.
- Must currently hold or be able to become DMIR (FAA).
- Complies with Bona Fide Occupational Qualification tests for visual acuity and hearing acuity after offer/acceptance.
- Target hourly hiring range: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
- Profit Sharing Bonus (discretionary, paid twice a year).
- Vacation:
