Entry Level Chemical Operator (Material Handler) JD

Entry Level Chemical Operator responsibilities include:

• Read and interpret batch tickets to identify the correct raw materials in the correct quantities
• Pick raw materials from the warehouse and transport to the staging area via fork truck
• Verify picked materials are correct in partnership with Reactor Operator
• Charge powdered raw materials to reactor via manway while wearing full PPE (Uniform, Tyvek suit, full-face respirator, hardhat, cut resistant gloves + chemical resistant gloves)
• Charging activities are very physical as batch sizes range from 20,000lbs to 100,000lbs and summer temperatures are high
• Clean area after charge and dispose of used packaging to dumpster

Work Schedule:

• Polynt runs a 24/7 operation with 12hr rotating shift schedule (outlined below)
• Day/Night Rotation: 6 weeks dayshift and 6 weeks night shift, repeat
• 12hr schedule: 6:30 – 7:00; 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off; with built in OT
  • Example 14 day schedule:
    Tue/Wed (on);
    Thurs/Fri (off);
    Sat/Sun/Mon (on);
    Tue/Wed (off);
    Thurs/Fri (on);
    Sat/Sun/Mon (off); repeat

Daily Job Expectations:

• Work safely and follow all policies and procedures;
• Identify and report unsafe conditions immediately;
• Check equipment for unsafe unusual conditions and correct or report findings to maintenance;
• Follow all site safety policies and wear appropriate PPE;
• Perform daily utility rounds and aide in basic troubleshooting of equipment;
• Ensure that Routine Job Tasks are completed;
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area;
• Continuously focus on teamwork, communication, and doing your best to do a good job;
• Participate on the Safety Action Committee;

Routine Job Expectations:

• Demonstrate good teamwork skills in performing all job functions;
• Communicate openly with Department Managers, Team Managers, and Production Assistant;
• Support company policies and programs;
• Perform other duties as designated by Team Manager;
• Follow all company and department procedures;
• Use all computer-based systems as required by job duties;
• Know safety equipment location and use;
• Work overtime as needed to cover the requirements of the shift;
• Complete special projects as described by Production Manager / Production Assistant;
