Hope Renovations is an innovative nonprofit with a dual purpose. We empower underemployed women to seek living-wage jobs in the trades through our training program while carrying out repairs and renovations in the homes of older adults who are aging in place.
Position OverviewThe Construction Site Supervisor will supervise the renovation, repair, modification, and rehabilitation work carried out by Hope Renovations in the community. This position will report to the VP of Field Operations and will be responsible for supervising trainees and volunteers of varying skill levels on construction sites.
Responsibilities- Coordinate, supervise, and perform hands-on construction tasks including (but not limited to) demolition, site prep, framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, finish carpentry, landscaping, tiling, light plumbing and electrical. Projects may include critical home repairs, rehabilitation, renovations, accessibility modifications, maintenance-related tasks, etc.
- Manage the administrative aspects of project planning including subcontractor oversight, material orders, client communication, and other project-related logistics.
- Ensure a positive, welcoming, and inclusive work culture.
- Provide on-the-job training to apprentices, training program participants and volunteers.
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure that other team members/volunteers do the same.
- Maintain a safe and clean work site.
- Adhere to the project’s designated budget and timeline.
- 2+ years of on-site experience in construction/skilled trades
- 1+ years of experience supervising individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences
- Strong construction knowledge and skills including carpentry, framing, demolition, surface treatments and finishing (i.e. painting, tile, drywall), and basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical
- Ability to do moderate physical activity that may include lifting, pushing, pulling materials, and equipment up to 75 pounds
- A commitment to Hope Renovations’ mission and vision
- Experience working with gender and racially diverse communities
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
- Proven ability to solve problems and adapt to situations as they arise
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Platform (Gmail, Docs, Forms)
- Familiarity with Asana and Airtable is a plus.
8am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday
Position statusFull time salaried, $50,000-$60,000
