Overview
Job Title: Shift Engineer
Location: Woking, Surrey
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Shift-Based)
- Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across M&E building services systems
- Carry out monitoring, fault-finding, and diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Operate and maintain data centre plant equipment including
- Respond to alarms and critical incidents promptly, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal downtime
- Complete shift reports, maintenance logs, and system documentation accurately
- Adhere to data centre operating procedures, risk protocols, and permit-to-work processes
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives on-site
- Work cooperatively with on-site clients, vendors, and engineering teams
- Recognised qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (NVQ Level 3+, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems
- Comfortable working within a structured shift rota
