The RoleThe Kitchen Assistants in our Homes play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our kitchens, ensuring that residents receive high quality meals and dining experiences. Working as part of the Kitchen team, reporting to the Chef, the role involves preparing and serving meals, supporting dietary needs of residents and contributing to a safe and positive working environment.
MainResponsibilities
- Ensures that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for in accordance with the company’s Assured Safe Catering standards.
- Delivers meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit in a timely and efficient manner.
- Under direction, assists with the basic preparation of food items.
- Ensures all cleaning within the kitchen, catering and servery areas is completed in compliance with the company’s Assured Safe Catering standards.
- Maintains a clean and tidy environment throughout the home, in line with operational standards and statutory regulations.
- Undertakes any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Chef or Cook.

- A good standard of both verbal and written English
- Previous catering, kitchen or food preparation experience
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Previous experience in a care home or healthcare environment
