Software Technical Lead

Enactor is a cloud-based unified commerce platform built for retailers, delivering next-generation Point of Sale (POS) and Order Management solutions. Built on flexible microservices architecture and low-code tools, Enactor enables seamless omnichannel experiences including self-checkout, mobile POS, and offline resilience for large enterprises and specialty retailers.

Through its centralised Estate Manager, retailers can unify online and offline channels, manage promotions and inventory, enhance clienteling, and rapidly adapt their technology landscape without heavy vendor reliance.

Enactor provides hosted card payment solutions to high street retailers across both in-store and e-commerce channels.

The Payments Development Team builds applications supporting:

• Card acceptance and payment processing
• Merchant and cardholder-facing applications
• Integrations with third-party card reader devices
• Backend applications within Enactor-hosted environments

The Operations Team is responsible for deployment and management of these hosted environments.

This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role working across both Development and Operations, owning the full payment solution lifecycle:

• Solution design and technical specification
• Oversight of software development and testing
• Production deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Managing external audits and accreditation initiatives

Technical Expertise

• Strong background in card payment systems (in-store and e-commerce)
• Experience integrating with third-party card reader devices
• Comfortable with low-level socket-based programming
• Confident working with web service integrations
• Solid software architecture and design capabilities

• Experience implementing systems aligned to industry specifications
• Alternatively, experience working in domains governed by formal standards
• Understanding of Information Security (Info Sec) principles
• Knowledge of Info Sec standards
• Experience with Dev Sec Ops  practices
• Exposure to production environment deployment and support

• First or Upper Second-class BSc degree in a technical subject
• Significant application design and development experience
• Experience working across the full software development lifecycle
