Key Responsibilities:
- Finance Management (IFFO and Marin Trust) -
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for both companies.
- Monitor financial performance and provide strategic analysis to support executive decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, reporting standards, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with the companies’ accounting firm, external auditors, public authorities, and financial institutions.
- Support investment planning, cost control initiatives, and capital allocation strategies.
- Align financial strategies with each company's long-term goals and operational realities.
- Lead the operations of a small international team, overseeing daily operations, ensuring efficiency and quality in the business. Manage HR, resource allocation, process execution, and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with department heads to implement operational improvements and resolve bottlenecks.
- Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to ensure performance targets are met.
- Support strategic initiatives, including scaling, restructuring, or process digitalisation.
- Ensure compliance with operational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Some international travel must be expected in addition to leadership meetings.
- Act as a strategic partner to IFFO´s executive team.
- Facilitate communication and alignment between finance and operations.
- Contribute to board‑level reporting and strategic planning discussions.
This role involves line‑managing IFFO’s Operations Manager and coordinating with Marin Trust’s Operations Manager. To be successful in the role, we believe it is important that you have good leadership and interpersonal skills. You follow laws, professional guidelines and company policies while modeling compliance across the organisation. It is important to diagnose problems clearly, identify root causes and produce practical, well‑considered solutions.
An ability to set and communicate a strategic vision that balances short‑term priorities with long‑term organisational direction is key.
Ownership and accountability for decisions and team outcomes are essential. Remaining calm, focused, and effective under tight deadlines and high pressure, while demonstrating resilience for the team, is crucial. Finally, thinking systemically and understanding cross‑functional interdependencies and the broader impact of decisions are key to success.
Qualifications:- Proven experience in financial controlling and operational leadership roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is required.
- Master's degree (e.g., MBA or MSc in Finance/Operations Management) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial management principles and operational strategy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across different business entities.
- Understanding of and/or interest in the seafood industry/the value chain of the seafood industry is desirable. Experience from working in multi‑company or group structures is a plus.
- Fluent in English
- Knowledge of Spanish is considered a positive asset
