Position: Inventory Control Specialist Warehouse – Visa Sponsorship

Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our client’s dynamic warehouse operations team in the United Kingdom. This role is crucial to ensuring accurate stock levels, efficient inventory management, and timely reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the flow of goods, monitoring inventory accuracy, and supporting the logistics team to meet customer demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels across multiple warehouse locations.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between system records and physical stock.
  • Maintain and update inventory management software and related databases.
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless stock flow.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
  • Track incoming and outgoing shipments to verify quantities and quality.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed reports on inventory performance and key metrics.
  • Support warehouse operations during peak periods and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist in forecasting demand and planning restock schedules to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in fast‑paced environments.
Experience
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain roles.
  • Prior experience in UK or international logistics is an added advantage.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms preferred.
Working Hours
  • Full‑time, 40 hours per week.
  • Flexible shifts may apply depending on operational needs (morning, evening, or night).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • In‑depth knowledge of supply chain processes and warehouse operations.
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and suggest practical solutions.
  • Strong leadership qualities and capability to train or supervise warehouse staff.

  • Familiarity with UK warehouse compliance and safety regulations (advantageous).
